Today, Governor Charlie Baker appointed John C. Addonizio to the State’s Health Information Technology (HIT) council. Mr. Addonizio brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the insurance, health and managed care arenas to the council. He is the former President and CEO of BMEGateway and Boston Medical Evaluations, Inc. Mr. Addonizio also served as the National Vice President of Sales and Business Development for ExamWorks, Inc. (NYSE: EXAM) and now operates a consulting group. As President/CEO of J. Addonizio & Company, LLC, he advises small and medium sized companies in business strategy, sales productivity, does CEO coaching, angel investing/funding, and more. The council is comprised of twenty-one members from different sectors whose varied and combined experience will help make the State a leader in health information technology.

For the past four years, the Mass HIway has been focused on the creation of the technical infrastructure, procedures, processes, and governance structure to enable the flow of patient health information. The Mass HIway now exceeds four million transactions per month.

In 2016, the HIT council will focus on smart growth and strategic value.

Directed by Professor David Chu, the Ciocca Office of Entrepreneurial Studies (COES) & Pre-Business Program at The College of The Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, held a Start-up Deep Dive workshop on January 16 - 18, 2015 for students interested in developing new ventures. The workshop is one of many in a series presented throughout the year to promote entrepreneurship and bring students together with working professionals.

John C. Addonizio, founder and former CEO of BMEGateway and who, until recently, served as Vice President of National Sales for ExamWorks, Inc., announced the launch of his consulting firm, J. Addonizio and Company, LLC, based in Winchester, MA.

In 1990, Mr. Addonizio started BMEGateway, headquartered in Woburn, MA. Serving the insurance industry, the company provided independent medical examinations (IMEs), peer reviews, bill reviews, utilization reviews, pharmaceutical diagnostic analyses, and IME-related services (dictation, transcription, translation and no show detection). The client's needs were always first priority.

BMEGateway served the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, as well as New York and Florida. He grew the company to national prominence and, later, sold it to ExamWorks in 2010.

An avid entrepreneur, John was anxious to get back to his roots.
