"I have known and worked with John over 10 years and he is the consummate professional. When I needed a vendor partner to work me on a new strategic approach to managing workers compensation claims, John quickly assembled a team of medical experts that were invaluable in piloting the concept and positioning it for success and implementation. I have found that John treats his business relationships as true partnerships and will always work closely with you to ensure you accomplish your goals and objectives."
George Neale, Insurance Professional

Paul Narciso, V.P. of Claims, Safety Insurance
I am an Entrepreneur. I love building things. I love business.
At age twenty-three, I had my sights set on going into the legal profession when I stumbled into the insurance industry. Short on cash and needing to work close to home, I took a job with Kemper Insurance Company in claims. The exposure to a combination of Workers Compensation law, investigations, medical treatment, and negotiating with lawyers about settlements made my job interesting.
In my first year there, I met some people who sold Independent Medical Evaluations (IME). I gained some insight and, almost immediately, I believed I could succeed in that business. Their product was a doctor’s report outlining the medical exposure on a claim. As a demanding customer, I saw an opportunity to provide a better service.
I came to realize that the sector was under served; so I set out to start my own business. In short time, Boston Medical Evaluations, Inc. (BME, as it is known in the market) was incorporated. The company was started with a small list of doctors, a receptionist, and a six hundred square foot office.
Things began to take off after our first couple of months. The cases, and checks, flooded in and the company grew at a very fast rate. Many hours were spent getting this company off the ground. I was on the road at 6 a.m. and got home late at night, but I relished every exhilarating minute of it. Along the way, I developed an affinity for marketing and sales which became my strength. When I say marketing and sales what I really mean is developing lasting relationships that turn into loyal friendships.
Back at the office, I always remained entrenched in the quality assurance process, physician relations, and the customer experience and service. I always felt that our organization was constantly validating our service by living our motto "Committed to Quality". We followed this mantra from the beginning.
Over time, BME expanded beyond Massachusetts to become a National company. It was an evolutionary process. With growth came challenges in technology, staffing, management, and long term strategy. We successfully met those challenges and BME became a well-recognized name in Commercial and Personal Lines Insurance. Through it all we remained “Committed to Quality”.
One of my greatest challenges came with the dissolution of a partnership. In 2007, with our sales were at their highest, the unthinkable happened, a business interruption took place that had a dramatic effect on our organization, operationally and financially. In order to stem the tide and correct the ship, I had to make sound decisions. My challenges were many. I brought on talent, became more active in the operational responsibilities, while maintaining client contact and assuring consistent deliverables. I had a great team and loyal customers as many of our people stood behind our company.
These loyal relationships were vital to me during this tumultuous period. It was overwhelming at times, but always exciting. Ultimately, when the smoke cleared, a much stronger company and a true CEO emerged.
In 2010, on our 20th anniversary of our incorporation, the company was successfully transacted to a publicly traded, mega international IME, conglomerate.
